    Collection for Bounced Check
I can understand a collection agency attempting to collect on a bounced check but they went after me and not my wife who wrote it. She is the primary and I was just added to her account when this occurred. My credit report indicates the collection action for a "check return". Isn't this inaugurate since I didn't write the check? What if anything can be done?

Yes it is bad, but often legal, depending on your states laws.

Since it is a joint account, think of a loan with a co-signer. The account owes them the money so everyone on the account can be looked at for collection.

** this is not true everywhere so I have no idea about your specific area.
We don't even know where you live, Canada, US ( what state) mexico, there are a lot of people from India on here also
