    I have regular period while I was suffering from urinary infection I hv done my ultrasound scan.It pointed out utres is normal measures 7.4x3.4x4.1cms,right overy measurement 3.4 x 2.2,left onery 3.6 x 2.2 cms.Both overis show multiple sub centimeteric follicles.No obvious adnexal lesions noted.There is no free fluid in POD. What is meant by multiple sub centimeteric follicles.endometrial thickness is 4.9mm

    It means they were able to see numerous follicles (which is normal) but, at the time of the scan, they were very small... less than a centimeter in measurement.

    Just before ovulation, you will produce a hormone (FSH) that causes these follicles to spring into action by starting the process of preparing an egg to be released for possible fertilization. This would cause them to start to enlarge.

    In each cycle many start the process, but, in most cases, only one egg will mature enough to come out of the follicle into the fallopian tube.
