Could I have a real snake in my drain pipe?
I think I have a snake in the pipe of my bathroom sink drain.. a REAL snake.. and it is a his and hers sink set up.. and looks like it is down the other sink as well. IS this possible?? I will be calling a plumber today to check it out.. I just poked the handle of an old toothbrush down the sink and it stopped about 4 inches down.. felt rubbery and it is dark. Shined flashlight and couldn't see anything.
I did pour about a cup of CLR down one side.. thinking it might be a clog or something and that was all I had in the house.. ( no drano).. I stoppered up both sides and walked away.. Freakin' me out..

It's not impossible. I once augered a dead bird out of a toilet trap. Call a plumber, (one that's not afraid of snakes) and have him snake that snake right out of your drain. Let me know what kind of snake it was. Good luck, Tom

Whatever it was.. didn't see much.. more of pipe was showing. Had son go and get foaming snake for drains and left it for an hour.. didn't see ANYTHING at all after that.. so guess I will never know..

ACK.. was definitely unnerving moment for me.. lol. Thanks for your replies and help.

Thanks for the update. I would like to have got a picture of that snake. It's seldom a critter gets caught up in the drainage system.
I've fished every out of toilets from a babies top to a upper denture but only one bird in all the years I've been a plumber.
    Regards, Tom

Once we augered rat out of a drain pipe... But in your case, I think it was hair around pop-up lift rod that felt "rubbery"...

Could be right.. however, I don't use this sink to wash hair in.. very small
Vanity type sink. I am just glad ~ whatever~ it was is GONE now.. lol.
