Why you are collecting benefits does not matter. VA benefits can be garnished for child support, spousal support, IRS and State taxes and little else.
What does the garnishment stem from?
The VA can give you far more info. Have you called your caseworker?
Are there limitations as to how much they can take?
Please stop asking the same question. Asked and answered on another thread AND more specific info is needed in order to answer you. Please answer my questions and I'll give you the specific info (which varies according to the circumstances).
I am single and living in the state of California I have been convicted of a felony and .I was ordered by the court to pay $43,000. I live on SS of $1387.00 and V.A. Benefit .$1643 . Are there limitations of what $ amount they can take from each or by total? What amount may that be?
Thanks
