LP Forced Air Furnice Pilot Light won't stay lit?
Hello My name is Dan from Indiana.
LP Pilot light won't stay lit?
I have a old 1973 Chevy Lark 25 ft. Motor Home.
The LP furnice Brand I don't know.I do know it says
    25,000 something and 20,000 something I'm thinking BTU.Also, says
    12 Volt Forced Air Furnice.
I replaced the Thermo Coup .Still won't stay lit?
I cleaned the pilot light area"Tip".Still won't light?
I never lit this furnice before.Last lit I was told was around 20 yrs ago!
I turn thermastat to lowest setting. Then I turn Gas knob to pilot. Then I push down on knob while lighting.I keep holding for sometimes 3 minutes or so.Then I left up on knob .Pilot light goes out!
Do I need electric curent for this furnice to light?
"Because, I noticed 2 Black wires coming from a wire box/ junkion box /w screews"
Going to the Gas Box I call it"The box yhing where the gas valve and lines go to".
    My question is
Do I need to know first if there's power going to the Furnice blower and thermastat in order to lite the pilot lite?
Could there be a electrical problem why the pilot won't lite?

I thought there was a Air in gas line problem so what I did was :
While gas was on I cracked the gas line fitting open to releise gas to releise if air was in line. But still didn't work!
I understand this is a older furnice,I understand the furnice hasn't been lit in yrs.But Man alive this thing is beating me up in the mind!
What test can I do?How do I know if the thermo coup is working?

I'm a motor head man not a furnice man!

I'm wondering how a thermo coup works?as well?
To me it seems to be a copper tube just like on a older chevy intake for chock.Sends heat from fire tip thru- copper tubing to the gas controller block then says let gas go through next stage. But how ?
Anyway, lets get back with the pilot light problem.
What else can I do or replace or tests?
    Thanks!
