Married in the Philippines and want a divorce in Louisiana.
I married a Filipina in the Philippines in October of 2009. I have not been in contact with her or seen her since February 2010. I'm not sure where she is or what is going on in her life, I feel abandoned. Can I file for divorce in the state of Louisiana? How long will the process take and what information will be required from us? I have the marriage certificate and her last known address in the Philippines. Will she need to sign anything for the divorce or will anything have to be mailed to her?

If you have established residency in LA then you can certainly file for divorce there. You will have to make an attempt to contact her. I suggest consulting a local attorney to make sure you do things correctly.
