    Prolonged vaginal spotting/bleeding
I have had a slight period for close to 3 weeks now. I have always been regular up until 2 months ago. This month all I seem to have is constant spotting... most times it can be a brownish colour but when wiping after going to the bathroom it is often pink or red. Since I have always been on time and very regular heavy flow... 2 months ago it came... was only ever brownish and only lasted 3 days. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to let me know.
Ok... a little more info... I am 37 but have had my period since I was nine. The first time I was pregnant I was very young. I have been told by friends that it seems like early menopause... when I check that out I certainly have a good number of the symptoms. I have been married for 18 years and I guess I just figure it's the change of life a little early do to the fact that I have put my body through so much.
There is no odour and no pain whatsoever... its just really annoying.

Go to your GYN you didn't mention your age, or food intake, or pressures and stress or if you have had kids or dieting so there could be a million things. If you use tampons that will cause it to stop and brown is old blood or the stopping of your period. Good luck.

This could also be a sign of infection. You should make a doctor's appointment to make sure everything is okay.

My sister began premenopause at 35, so it could be that. I would suggest a call to your Dr to see if they think you need to come in to get checked out. In our family starting menopause by or at 40 is not uncommon. Best wishes.

I've been going through the same problem as you.
And I've been to several doctors to seek answers but,
None of them have seem to find out what's the problem.
I was wondering if you know what this is,
    And what is causing this.
    I'm extremley worried.
So I would be appriative if you would inform me on this.
    Please & thank you.

I too have had this problem.
Last year it lasted 3 months... I had several tested run the OBGYN Specialist could not find anything.. then it went away but only after a very heavy 3 day period where I bleed through 1 pad an hour...
It is back again this year... I am on week 5 of spotting.
I have not gone to the doctor because my husband's started a new job and we won't have insurance until mid Aug.
If you do find out what it is please let me know... so I quit worrying.

I am only 32.. I have two little ones... one age 5 and one age 2... no clues as to what besides stress could be causing this.

My problem was I had a sist in my ovaries.
But, it could also be fibriods.
The doctor said - there's nothing they could do about to stop it.
Edventually it did stop. They also said I shouldn't worry because there was nothing dramatically wrong . As long as you're not passing out or feeling weak ; you should be okay.
    I'm glad you wrote back.
Because I was beginning to think this was very uncommon.
And I hope I helped as much as possible.

I am 20 years old, and I am having a very similar problem. I had my first child about 18 months ago, and have been bleeding every since. I remember having a sist when I first became pregnant, but I haven't had any sharp pains from it since I was about five months pregnant.

Have you been on any birth controls? I know that as soon as I had my son, the doctor put e on the Depo shot, which made me bleed every day, instead of stopping my flow. I was supposed to get my next shot back in July, but didn't because I was tired of bleeding all of the time... yet I'm still bleeding 4 months later.

Maybe you should go to the doctors. I was told that I had lesions on my cervix, but they said that wouldn't cause the bleeding. I really don't know. Hope you get the answers you need, and hope that I was of some help.

I had this problem too. Over the summer I experienced light spotting that just wouldn't go away. Some days there would be no blood in my pantty liner and then when I'd have sex I'd start to bleed. It eventually stopped on it's own and then in came back around November... finally I went to my doctor and gott checked for everything to asses to problem. Thank God it was on my harmonal imbalance and nothing a little birth control couldn't fix... since going on BC... ive not had this problem and my period are noraml... by the way I'm 20

54 years old, must be going through menopause although I have had no other signs except a few hot flashes at night, which went away. Had a child at 38, same symptoms. I have a stressful like, 4 teenagers, beat that... but never bled before. I am not going to seek a doctors advice for a couple more weeks. It's probably just hormonal. If I was 20 I would get to a doctor. The only thing that worries most of us is ovarian cancer which can be detected with a blood test. May or may not be covered on your insurance, I paid $200.00 out of pocket to get the test a couple of years ago during a routine physical under my doctors recommendation.

    Hi,

Recently I'm also having constant spotting/ bleeding for 4 months, at first it was dark, brown then red, then brown then now red, and I only have 1 episode a day,
Sometimes light, sometimes heavy, and I would fill the whole commode with red blood when urinating, like a period (sorry tmi), except I dun think it's a period because it wd stop the whole day, and the next day, pattern repeats.

I'm 43 and wondering is this perimenopause, or fibroids/ adenomyosis?

Im surprised to find so many posts on constant bleeding in the internet and comforted that I'm not alone.

I am having the same problem too, but I'm 15 and have never had kids... it's really freaking me out because I have had the constant spotting. Mum said it could be because of stress at school? But its been going so long that I'm not sure!

Hi I'm 21, and I'm also experiencing prolonged light vaginal bleeding. Painless brownish in appearance. I have irregular menstruations ranging from 32-42 days interval and usually lasts up to three to four days only. I don't take any kind of medicines.or pills. I do not have kids and I have no history of cancers in my family.
My work schedule is very complicated, I sometimes get 2 AM schedules and 3 PM schedules in a week (12hours shift). I'm so worried. Please help me.
