I'm 12 days late today, I've taken multiple HPT's all have said negative.
I've been reading other ppl's posts and I realize that my HCG level might be too low to detect. But it is so discouraging seeing a negative result each time. It seems like after being 12 days late (last cycle 8/9) a pos would show up by now. Any advice?

    Hi alyse,

It is frustrating, to be sure. Are your cycles usually quite regular? Your period may just be off this cycle, it can happen even if it has not before. For some women, getting a positive result may take several weeks to show up.

Give it a few more days and try another test. If still negative, either see your doctor and ask for a blood test, or wait until next month and see if your period was just off. Test again at that time if still no period.

If you have been actively trying to get pregnant, and your periods are usually regular, then I would jump right to the getting a blood test stage. Fingers crossed!

Thank you so much for your reply!

My periods have been every 30-35 days since I stopped using contraceptives about 9 months ago or so. I have had some pregnancy symptoms. ( all I want to think about is sleep! )
I do have an appt for Monday to see my gyn, I just feel like I'm stressing a little too much over this! I would be so excited to see a pos result!
Thank you so much again for your reply!

I am going through the same thing. My brain won't stop! I read somewhere that sometimes a woman misses her period because her egg didn't drop and she didn't ovulate that month. This could be the case with us... My husband and I have been trying since Jan. it's not easy each month. I have heard it take up to 6 weeks for some women to get a positive test. Have you made an apt. to get a blood test? Sometimes they can pick it up quicker than urine.
