I have a GVP ceramic straightening iron. I am going to Italy and want to use the adapter to turn it in to 220 volts but don't want it to blow out. How do I know if it can take it? Thanks!!

Use a travel voltage converter if you are just traveling. It won't simply plug in anyway. You have to convert the 220v to 110v as well as adapt to the different style plug both.
