Please clarify; is the applicant the one that is subject to the protective order?

Generally these types of offenses will disqualify someone from PR; aggravated felonies, crimes involving moral turpitude, drug offenses, firearms violations and domestic violence.

Get the entire order, and if applicable; the charging document, the court order and the court disposition. Then consult with an experienced immigration attorney. Good luck.

alternap18 agrees : so is this a felony what kind of felony like degree?

Each state has a different criminal code, so check with the criminal attorney that represented you to see if it is a felony and then consult with an immigration attorney to see if it is deemed a felony under immigration law.
