Do catholic beliefs differ from one another ?
Do you mean do different catholics have varoius beleifs,
In general there is one correct and approved teaching of the church, but of course not all Bishops, nuns or Priests. For example many catholics in the US practice birth control and it is not preached against a lot in the US, but it is against church teachings.
There are many ( well some) bishops that agree with women priests, but it is not allowed.
And of course there are varoius "RITES" the Roman Rite is the most known and the largest but there are other eastern rites that have some rules different.
If you are asking how they compare to other faiths, it depends on the faith, that is like asking how a Lutheran differs from a Southern Baptist.
Fr_Chuck summarizes well.
If you are speaking of Roman Catholic, then if the Pastors are doing their job correctly, then you will not find any differences in "belief's" related to doctrine... but you will find a huge range of differences in practice.
In my city we've got the range from a Church were you'd think you were in a baptist church to ones who still have a Latin Mass - but doctrinally, they're all following the Catechism.
Yes you have groups of Catholics that are charsimatic ( using the gifts of the spirit) the Church allows it but not within the formal MASS.
But you have others who would not sit in a service if it was not the Latin Mass, but in the US you have 7 churches that have been given permission to use the Common Book of Prayer ( with a few changes)
And I did some services on an Indian Reservation for the Roman Catholic Church near Denver in my earlier days and they had aspects of the Indian culture in their service.
Thanks for the info, I was talking to a friend and was telling him that I had a friend that is a catholic, and that he had different beliefs from some other catholics . Then the friend I was telling this to, said they all believe the same way.
Myself personally I believe we should profess christiananity. And not get caught up different religions
