My toshiba satellite laptop webcam stopped working, how do I turn it on, if that is a possible solution

Some laptop manufacturers only supply Drivers but no software to interface the web cam.

If you install skype you will be able to interface it. Or just Google "Free webcam software"

It was during the use of Skype that the existing wecam was identified as being unavailable. The Toshiba reconizes a Windows update problem w/suggested fix. But there is no Chicony webcam listed in the device mgr in which to correct the problem.
