Had plumber digging to install sewer and he hit a eletrical wire. It knocked out the power and when power came back on the lamp in my flat screen TV had burst from the power surge. He said he would pay to get it fixed but left and came back later saying his lawyer said he was not liable but he was willing to pay half the bill. He came back the next day for 2 hours. That was last Tuesday. I have called and left messages and he has not answered my calls I am having a couple of guys finish digging. Do I need to dig from tap to pipe connected to house or dig from pipe to sewer tap. Could you also explain the process? Do you have a video.

Looks like it's court time for the plumber. How can his lawyer say he's not liable when he caused the break in the line. Also, if you had a contract with the plumber, or his company , then he's in default. I'd be seeing my own lawyer about this time

Not knowing your area or how deep you have to dig let me tell you how we run sewers in my area.
We start at the house cleanout or connection and dig a trench sloping it down by just cracking the bubble on a level. When we reach the city raiser out at the curb we 45 degree down using a eight bend and make the connection.

Why not dig the trench, lay them pipe and call in a licensed plumber to make the street connection? Good luck, Tom
