Iam looking to refinish a corian counter top. It is presently black, I assume sanding is necessary and then a sealant of some kind?
All help would be appreciated, thanks

You will need to sand out the scratches. Try 220 sandpaper on an orbital. You could also try steel wool, finer, after sanding. The finer the sand paper, the higher the shine. Work your way up with sandpapers. With black you will probably want a shine back. Black is a difficult color to work with. You do not seal corian. It is non porous. MillyQuote:

Next see if you can buff the area. Black is extremely hard to sand and bring back a sheen without showing scratches. You cannot seal corian or a solid surface. It is non porous.
