Bathroom sink drain problem
I'm replacing my bathroom sink and have a problem with deciding on what to do about the trap arm for the new sink. After I removed the old bathroom sink I found that the trap arm was soldered into the 1.50 inch copper elbow stubout in the wall. Let me explain what I think they did. It looks like there is a 1.50 inch:confused: copper elbow stubout and in that elbow they soldered a piece of copper tubing, cut and bent back the copper tubing and inserted the 1.25 inch trap arm for the p trap. Should I cut the trap arm and use a coupling to attach the new trap arm or should you unsweat all the piping back to the elbow and sweat in a new trap arm ?
