I assume you want to know what can cause a plasma TV to shut off on its own. There are a number of things that could cause this to happen.

    - Bad/unstable electricity.
    - Bad/unstable power supply in the TV.
    - A short in the power cable.
    - Someone sitting on the remote control.
    - Someone using a same brand or universal remote to play a prank on you.
    - etc

It is next to impossible for us to diagnose the issue over the Internet. Your best option is to try a few exclusion tests, like plugging the TV into a different outlet to see if it still happens.

If after testing a few things and you still have an issue, you could either return/exchange the TV if still in the return/exchange period. Or you could contact the manufacturer to see if they cover in-home service and what will need to be done for service. Or if outside of the manufacturer's warranty, you could be looking at $100-200 for just an in-home diagnostic, and anywhere from $800-1500 for a repair on a plasma.
