Hi my name is May my period is 7 days late I have been feeling dizzy and tired all the time sore breasts and cramping but no period... my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for the past 6 months but no luck... I don't remember with my first child what were the signs and when I can get an accurate blood test.. my daughter is 4 and half now... is there a chance that I may be pregnant?? And if not what could be causing this delay??

Same thing happened to me I am pregnant now and I went and got a blood test done for pregnancy and it came back negative too and a month later I took a home pregnancy test myself and it came up positive after that I was like 2 months pregnant by the time I found out sometimes your body doesn't give off the right hormones when you take the test.

So there is a chance that I may be pregnant? Did you get the same signs like fatigue, increased hunger, dizziness, sore dreastes, and cramps?

I had some of them I did get cramps sometimes really bad the hunger thing wasn't to bad I deff was dizzy at times feeling hot one moment and cold the next I got moody at times but every day I was feeling sick and dizzy

Definitely try a test. While some pms symptoms can be similar, and you may just have a late period, since you have been trying to get pregnant, that obviously would be a likely cause.
A urine test will likely be accurate at this point.

Great girls thank you so much for your help but there is no sign of my period and the symptoms are the same still sick all the time dizzy tired hot and cold hungry... sleepy... well I know one thing for sure in my first pregnancy I took the urine test and it showed negative and with a blood test it was positive even when I was 3 months in it still showed negative... so I don't really depend on the urine test maybe my body is different I donno but I guess it's a waiting game from now on to see...

Could be some sort of illness your body is fighting, but pregnancy would certainly be the first suspect.

A blood test would pick it up at this point. You can ask about a quantitative one that will detect the hcg level instead of a positive or negative result.

Thank you very much I will def get that done ASAP may be because I am hoping it would be positive and looking forward to being prefgnant that I have been putting off getting tested for as long as possible because I'm scared that they will come and tell me that I am not the same 6 times in the past 6 months... oh well I have to face the truth some time

Turst me it only takes one time for them to connect me and my husband tried for a year to get pregnant and nothing when we stopped worrying about it and didn't think about it 8 weeks later I was pregnant so instead go out with your husband have fun maybe drink a little bit if your not pregnant and go home and have a great name try having you husband give you a full body massage that might help too.

Yeah I heard that couple of times from my friends that when they gave up and stop worrying they got pregnant out of the blue... so I guess if this time is not it then I guess I will hit the town and enjoy life as much as possible :D oh well... thanks a million

9 days and still no period :S I am still not brave enough to get a pregnancy test... I heard that some times the period is late because its changing it monthly time.. but how late would it be to do that?? I mean the cramps are still continuing with everything else along with it :S is that still only pms or could be what I am hoping for??

If it were just a missing period, I'd say give it another month and see what happens. This is because every once in awhile a woman may skip a month. Many doctors/midwives are not concerned until you have missed two in a row.

However, since you are trying to become pregnant, and are having other possible symptoms as well, take a test.

If you are pregnant, you'll want to know so that you can start your prenatal visits. If you aren't pregnant, better to find out and ease the stress of not knowing then you can continue with your efforts.

I finally got the guts to go and get the test done and there is no pregnancy the doctor thinks its because I just moved to a new country and my diet had changed and I am showing signs of depression it was playing a big role in all the symptoms I have been experiencing and my missed period as well :( oh well may be next time...
