    Master Tenant VS Roommate
I recently took on a roommate at the recommendation of an friend. The total rent is $2125.00. The roommate paid $450.00 of the rent or 20%. We both learned early on that we were not compatible. I work days and sleep nights. The roommate was in the midst of finding permanent employment and was living off unemployment and a "settlement". He moved on a Thursday night. Around 2:00 AM, I got up from bed and asked to finish up in the morning as I had work the next day. In doing so, I accaidently broke a vase. So, I paid him $325.00!!

Anyhow, we both agreed it was NOT working out and I paid him back the difference of 11 days for December (plaus I already paid for the vase). On his moving day, which he postponed for a while, we packed his things and begin to transport them out of the apt complex. The apt complex confiscated them until the next day since it was against their approved moving schedule. It was 10:30Pm, and the policy moving ends at 5:00PM.

Now the roommate wants to sue for harassment and unfair treatment. Meanwhile, this guy is living off some settlement. In the days he moved told me of an account that he file against the NYPD for harassment, and w/a manager at the retail store Sephora. Does he have any rights against me, the master tenant. Or, does this "scam artist"?

    Please give me good news.

So the apartment complex confiscated his stuff?

It doesn't sound like he has a suit against you, but rather the apartment complex.

Furthermore, he should never have let them take his stuff and he should file a report with the NYPD on the charge of theft.
