I have a bryant electric furnace and it blew a fuse 5 amp replaced it then I smelled a burn smell and my thermostat would not come on after it blinked for a second.

Test the low voltage wiring and the devices attached to the wiring till you find the electrical short causing the problem. Then fix or replace the defective piece.
