what do i need to do to get the money value of my stuff back?
    Hi,

my landladies boyfriend admitted to the police he stole and sold approximately $4000 worth of my stuff mostly DVDs and an Ipod Radio, as well as he stole a cheque book of mine and tried to put fraud cheques through my account. I reported this crime to the cops but they are more concerned about the fraud charges then the stolen property, what do I need to do to get the money value of my stuff back?

I don't think your money is recoverable. Short of sueing this guy for it, there isn't anything you can do. Unless of course, the police come up with some of it, but I doubt it.

Consult a solicitor. You will have to sue the boyfriend. You may include your landlord since she may have helped him get access to your home (whether actively or not).

    Hello n:

Stay in touch with the prosecutor. He can order the guy to pay restitution to you. If that doesn't happen, you'll have to sue him. Sue the landlady too, like Scott said.

You know, EVEN if you get restitution ordered, I'd sue the landlady anyway.
