Noisey floor boards in a bungalow built in 1935
We are moving to a bungalow shortly, and it was built in 1935. On a second visit my 1 year old daughter was banging her feet on the floor in one of the bedrooms it sounded noisey and bouced a bit. Is this normal? think the floor is wood also, we haven't lifted the carpets to have a look.

75 years of temperature and humidity changes and general settling have loosened the hardwood or floor. With this age, you probably have diagonally run 1X6 or 1X8 under the hardwood or just boards. Take up the carpet and you will most likely find loose floor boards. Screw them down with deck screws or coarse thread drywall screws. And relay the carpet. If you have hardwood and want to use it, the solution is more difficult. You will need to remove the hardwood, renaol the subfloor and renail the hardwood. Very hard job since you will probably break a lot of the hardwood.
