    Emotional Distress
My daughter's boyfriend has forced her to report me for child abuse, has been controlling her for 3 years, alienated her from her family, posted nude pictures of her all over the internet causing distress and upset to myself and her sisters, called me names, been abusive over the phone to my parents and has caused me to have developed symptoms of stress, distress, emotional upset and caused me to have migraine headaches, weight gain and loss, palpitations, stress, and anguish. Can I sue him and his parents for emotional distress?

I would assume that you would need documentation of all your symptoms and a note from your health professional stating this was from him not other factors in your life. Usually people sue for distress with another case I don't know if you can sue for it independently. Can you call a local lawyer and ask for a consult? I doubt you could though or else everyone would be doing it.

    Kiroki,
That's terrible! Suing him and his parents won't solve the problem though. But perhaps you need to get someone higher in to help though. Have you reported the situation to the police?

Make sure you look after yourself - you won't be able to help your daughter if you are in such a terrible state yourself. Have you got any support - family or coucillors?

    Hope things pick up,
    Sincerely,
    Pensive

If your daughter is under age and living with you under your care then I would be consulting a lawyer not for suing, but for restraining order against this young man. Then I would be explaining in no uncertain terms to your daughter these are the rules to live by while under your roof. I would also get some counseling, speak to your minister if you don't have one, this would be a very good time for all of your family to find one!! Good luck
