    Water tank change over
My water tank has had its days and I want to change over to the town supply.
Would I be able to do this myself.
I know I need to purchase a preasure vaulve and regulator what would be the best to buy as they come in different price ranges

Then you must know what the PSI is out in the street main. What is it?
Has the city installed a meter yet?
Do you know where you will connect to the house? Depending on your location you will have to dig the water line below then frost line. I would suggest 3?4" Schedule#40 PVC for your service. Do you have a sprinkler system? Tell me more about your set up. Regards. Tom

Hi tom yes the city has installed a meter and yes I do know where the connection to house is located but no to sprinkler system have three tap valves running from the bottom of the water tank
One tap directly under the tank and then to more tap valve running to the hot and cold water and the street main water runs into the tank at this time will it be possible to change over from the tank to the street main

I don't see why not! Shut the water off under the tank and Sever the line just after the tank shut off valve. The tank may now be drained. Next connect the service to the line that feeds the other taps and you're hooked up to city water. Good luck, Tom
