My boyfriend and I may have genital warts.
Right here goes.. Im a little confused about this, as we are both completely failthful to each other, but as of a few days ago he noticed some lumps on his penis, around the same time I started itching and burning.. down there.. I also had a look this morning and found one tiny lump which I can only think of is genital warts. What confuses me is that we have never cheated on each other, so how else would we have gotten the virus? He's a builder and constantly has warts and blisters on his hands due to his job, but I didn't think you could catch warts from hand to the genital area, or am I wrong? Ive tried researching it but I can't seem to find a simple solution as to how we have this virus, but we have never cheated. We are also trying for a baby so we don't use protection. Someone please help, this is really annoying me!

Yes, you are correct HPV is a sexually transmitted disease. So start asking questions is my best bet, either that or you both go to the doctor and duke it out.

HPV can lie dormant for years. It's actually quite common.

Go get checked, both of you.

He can put a solution of vinegar and water (1/2 and 1/2) on his bumps, and see if they start to "foam" like hydrogen peroxide on a wound does.

    Good luck on the baby.

You know with the vinegar & water, can I do that? And what is the reason for doing so?

    Thanks for your help

I also forgot to add that when I was 12 I had a case of really bad coldsores around the mouth for a while, which I cleared and they never showed up again, is this my fault?

Cold sores are a form of herpes simplex and we all get them, so can't say we all have herpes that is generated into a sexually transmitted disease. No, don't think it is your fault. You just had cold sores.

Please understand SEXUALLY transmitted, not cold sores, not from dirty toliets and more.

But also one could have gotten it years and years go and did not know. There are of course other things that have similar appearance, so go to the doctor and verify
