My router seems to be freezing
Hi, for the past few days my internet connection has been going out. When it happens, I look my router, and all five of the "wired" connection lights are lit up and solid, I only have one computer hardwired to the router. I have one laptop that connects to it sometimes too, wirelessly.

It is a DLink Wireless Router, model DI 624. I have gotten the latest firmware for it. I also have reset it to factory settings, then upgraded the firmware again.

Mainly I am wondering if there is a possibility of someone nearby in my neighbourhood messing around with my router, or maybe a virus, or maybe is it just screwed?

I had 2 of that model and returned both because they didn't work right. When the connection goes out, is it just on the wireless or on the wired one too? Can you directly connect to your modem and still get internet? Have you called your broadband carrier's tech support?

Its possible that something, cordless phone or someone else's router is interfering with your signal.

I got that once in a while and power cycle usually worked.

If you suspect others are messing with it, you can set it up to be more secure.
