Dog refuses to eat dog food
My cross Alsatian rock weiller ***** has dicided not to eat dog food. Tried all sorts has always ate them until the last few weeks, will eat say couple of slices of cooked ham and odd table left overs, cornbeef fish. Will not eat dried dog food, any ideas?

    My dogs hate dry food.
Give them a bowl of it for dinner and 9 times out of 10 they will give me a look of "what is this garbage?" and walk away.

You can trying mixing something through the dry food like a little bit of canned food or some sardines to make it more appealing.
You can also try soaking the dry for a while until he learns to eat it again. I use a ration of about 1 cup of warm water to 2 cups of dry and let it soak for about half an hour.

You need to cut out ALL table scraps, don't give him anything that isn't his dog food (excluding training sessions) By giving him table scraps you re actually reinforcing his bad behaviour, a lot of dogs will hold off eating the dog food because they know something better is coming their way, in your dogs case, some tasty ham.

No healthy dog will starve itself and he will eat the dry food eventually but by doing some of the things mentioned above it should speed up the process.

ETA - How old is he?

I agree. People food is dessert, not the entrée. If you had the choice, would you eat the ice cream or the broccoli (plain)?

No dessert for a while will get the puppy back into the habit of eating dog food.
