How do I get to 486 from 1458

    1458 / 3 = 486

    or maybe...

    1458 - 972 = 486

It all depends on the type of sequence. Two terms is not enough.

    Hi, sexyshayonte23!

What were the specific instructions that you were given, either verbally or written, to solve the problem, please?

    Thanks!

You could get there as follows, although it uses 5 twice:

    (5+1) x (8-5)^4
