I am totally unable to work. I have not sought to be certified as disabled although I can. Also, the rheumatologist missed my butterfly rash because he described one (I had one that began about 2 years before I got sick. I found it on the pix on the internet) and it didn't look like the one on my face. He didn't look at my face. I had every other symptom. So, can I get "disability" from Ga TRS?

You don't know until you apply; HOWEVER, I am not aware of anyone who collects disability of any sort (or early retirement) without medical documentation.

You seem to think you have discoid Lupus; has anyone ruled out systemic? I am a little confused that the Doctor didn't look at your face - anyone I've seen with the Lupus mask has a very vivid, distinctive mask.

I also know people who do not have any skin involvement at all.

I will add that I was misdiagnosed with SLE some years ago based on an (apparently) incorrect blood test so I know more than a little bit about Lupus.

If you feel you can receive SSD then you need to start an application for this now as it will take many months if not years to be approved. In the meantime has your doctor given you any disability rating for lupus?

I had a close friend who had a severe case of lupus and she was quite active going shopping and driving her van everywhere until she was in the last stages for a year before her death.
