We replaced 2 existing ceiling fans hooked up to a dimmer switch with 2 Harbor Breeze
Laurel Glen ceiling fans. The dimmer switch does not work with the 2 new fans. Anyone have any idea why the don't work? The model number is L823. The dimmer switch is just for the lights. Thanks.

So the new fans are connected in the same ceiling box as the old fans, right? Do the fans work and what controls them

Yes, we're using the same ceiling boxes. The fans work off a light switch(next to dimmer switch) and of course, the chains hanging from the fans.

The power wire from the receiver to the fan is usually blue. Put your test meter on the blue and the ground or on the white, push the remote. If you get no power reading from the meter the remote could be bad. Does the remote have a small red light that lights when you press button?

There is no remote. There is a wall switch that controls both fans with a dimmer switch.

OK then test for power coming to the switch and then coming from the switch. If both are good then test for power at the canopy. The switch itself is your weakest link
