Why do the turn signals on 2003 crown vic blink fast sometimes??
All the bulbs are good. Checked them, then changed out all just to make sure. They don't blink fast all the time, just sometimes. It will start slow like they are supposed to, then blink fast for a few blinks then go back to slow then fast... CRAZY, it's like they have a mind of their own.
    Any Ideas?

Turn the key to ON (do not start the engine). Turn the blinker lever in the direction of the malfunctioning turn signal.

Inspect bulbs front and rear, replacing failed bulbs as needed. If you have replaced the bulb and it still blinks fast, plus the bulb does not illuminate properly, the ground circuit inside the bulb socket has failed. To repair, remove the bulb socket and replace with new.

If all bulbs are good, replace the flasher unit--sometimes the resistance inside the flasher fails, causing rapid blinker operation.

When the repairs have been completed, recheck the turn signal system operation.

My bet is that the flasher unit is failing.
