I bypassed the lid switch but this doesn't resolve the issue. All other functions appear to work properly. When it comes time to spin, there is a motor noise but no spin by the agitator. It moves slightly as if it wants to move but nothing results. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

Everything else worked with this machine - i.e. drain, agitating, etc. It was in fact due to a faulty timer. It is now being reconditioned since replacement parts are hard to come by.
