95 civic main relay replaced; ran initially now not running again
    Hello,
I have a 95 Civic, engine turns but won’t start. Initially CEL remained on and fuel pump was not heard. Car sat and a few days later started, fuel pump was heard, and CEL did not stay on. Next day the car did not start as before and decision was made to replace the main relay. Car started and ran as normal and was not driven for next two days. Car would then not start and once again CEL remained on and fuel pump was not heard. Relay was jumped at 5&7 and fuel pump was heard but CEL remained on and car would not start. Can anybody suggest what to do next to get this thing running? I thought the problem was the main relay especially after the car ran perfect after replacing it but then two days later I am back to where I started.

Your problem is likely a bad ECM (computer). Install a remanufactured ECM and your car will probably run like a top.

Perform the K-Test to confirm your ECM is bad. I will virtually guarantee your ECM fails the K-Test. Read Sections A, B, and S associated with the link below:

Without 5 volts going to the MAP sensor, your car won't start. Your ECM is breaking down and can no longer consistently provide the required voltage. What voltage do you measure at the MAP sensor connector?

    Keep me posted.

When I jump the diagnostic terminal only the SRS light blinks while the CEL stays on. Am I doing something wrong?

It's likely a confirming indicator that the ECM is toast. What were the results of the K-Test?

I have not done the K test yet because I do not have a multi-meter. Also, can you just swap a computer without any additional work to get the car running as normal?

Yes! Read Section S to help you remove/install the ECM. Remove your old ECM, write down the Honda Part No. that's on the case, and get an exact replacement. Once you remove your old ECM, it takes only 10 minutes to install the new one.
