How do I connect an inverter to light my whole house continuasly?
Someboby told me that if main power is off you can just plug in on any socket when using a generator and all house sockets will be alive or usable and so I just wondered that if that was possible when using an inverter.Thank you.

This is NOT true, and is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to you and any utility workers working on lines.

You would need a transfer switch of some sort that will prevent backfeeding the utility lines.
Also, you will need a HUGE inverter and a huge 12v source to feed it. This would not be something you simply plug into your car.
What you will pay for something like that would far surpass a decent generator.
