How do I stop water running through my shower head when I run the bath water
When I turn the faucet on in my bathtub, some of the water runs through the shower head. The diverter is in the spigot.
This was part of a remodel in the bathroom. There was only a tub, then a wall was added and the shower head installed. Should the faucet fixture have been replaced?

This could be the diverter or may be your raiser to the shower head is too short?

Please tell us lenth of the raiser pipe from the valve to the elbow where the shower arm fits, Thanks.

If you paid a plumber or handyman to do this remodeling you should call them back and require them to fix the diverter. If you did the install I am thinking the diverter is the problem, like John says. What brand, maybe we can help you replace the diverter, maybe even free if it's a Moen or Pfister.
