In the late 90's I watched something on televison. I can remember is that there is a young boy who cuts himself or been cut by another person across his hand with a kitchen knife that looks like a Mike Myers knife from the Halloween Francise. I only remember a scene were the boys mother or a mother figure was washing dishes and he stairs at a knife on the dish rack. I was young when I watched this so I was kind of like why is he doing that and freaked out so I changed the channel but now Im interested.

Perhaps Butterfly Effect with Ashton Kutcher? Think there's a scene where he's holding a knife and his mum asks what he's doing but don't think he cuts himself with it - he does does stab his hand at school though
