What does this phrase mean coming from a teacher your being your typical jaded self
We were having a class discusion over a story we read in a Comp. 1 class. When doing what I was asked to do,"give feed back to the other class mates on thier thought's about the story" the instructor told us before we started that she was only there to listen to the class talk, and would not be a part of the conversation. Someone said something about the story being a biography "so to speek" about the man that wrote the story. I replyed that, who's to say that the story was even about the writer. After all there is no creditable evidence of this and the man is a professional writer he may have wrote it for this only for this text book and only for educational purposes. This is when the teacher said to me " Oh well your just being your typical jaded self." the class all turned to me with a funny look , and I will have to say I felt very belittled
The thing is I am not sure how that should have been taken. Can you shed some light on this topic for me ?
