    Old perfume and cologne
How long should perfume and cologne be kept? Is keeping in fridge OK?

You can keep perfume or cologne as long as you wish but the drawback will be that it will go stale within 2 years. It's OK to store in the fridge but that really does not give the scent more shelf life in the end.

I have some Shalimar perfume and cologne from about 9 years ago that still smells okay but it's not as strong as it was when I first purchsed it. It does smell but not as strong when applied on my skin.

Perfume really does not go "bad" per se but just fades out over time.

A perfume can last for years as long as you keep it in the original box inside a dark drawer or cupboard

Keep it closed when not in use. But use it until it runs out!

Perfumes with more essential oils last longer, i.e. good perfumes have more essential oils, that's what makes the scent superb (essential oils are priceless) , whatever one you like.

Perfumes last longer stored in the refrigerator. I know you would probably like to display them, but they won't last as long on your dresser.
