    Driving under suspension dui related
My husband had a dui in 2003 somehow his license was still suspended in 2006 and he was caught driving while under suspension related to dui and was put in jail for 60 days. Then again in 2008 he was pulled over while under suspension. He was pulled over last night again and his license is still suspended. Will he go to jail? We don't understand how a dui in 2003 when all fines and jail time was served how his license is sill suspended.. please help we are worried esp since we just had a baby

Let me get this straight. He served 60 days in 2006 and never got his license situation straightened out? Then he violated this suspension and drove in 2008 and STILL didn't get it straightened out? And yet he has continued to drive with a suspended license? What the heck are you thinking?? He needs to stay out from behind the wheel until this gets straightened out. If he served time in 2006 and he hasn't learned his lesson, there is a good chance he might spend more time in jail this time.

There must be something he is not relating to you regarding these DUIs. A serious offence and depending on the circumstances, licence suspension may continue for more then 3 years. I suggest he contact your local DMV and inquire there regarding his suspension.

Just because he did time in jail, etc. does not mean his license is instantly automatically reinstated. He must go and apply to the DMV in person to have his license reinstated. It was his "thinking" that got him in trouble for not following through with their game plan down at the DMV. Lots of folks made that same mistake and paid for it later like he did.

To put it in a nutshell - it's not automatically reinstated. The DMV has to "manually" reinstate it. And there is generally a "fee" involved of several hundred dollars as well. They just don't do anything like that for free. Never have.
