Ouch... If memory serves me the F, D, H and B series engines are all interference type engines, meaning valves WILL hit pistons and bend.

    I don't know about the K series.

So what needs to be done?

Head comes off, damaged valves replaced and seated, Pistons examined for damage... You automatically need a new tensioner and water pump EVERY time the timing belt is replaced.

It's a big job... not one for someone who has never done it before because there are a LOT of details that I didn't go into.

Agree... to complicate it, THe head caskets are composite, they LOVE to what appears to be molecularly BOND to one surface. And cleaning that from an aluminum block and not getting debris into the cylinders or water jacket is nobodies idea of fun.

To give you an idea how hard it is... before you get any ideas of trying it yourself.

I'd sooner buy a complete used JDM engine and replace the entire thing, than replace a head gasket on another Honda Engine.
