My friend has been going to this school since she was 5. We got a new principle and he called her mom saying that since they live out of the district area that they are kicking her out. Her mom was going to fill out a transfer sheet but they told her no because the school had too many whites and they wanted different races. Is this illegal? And if so what can we do?

The mom can go to the school board, but you are suppose to attend the school in your district, many schools change district lines for racial balance every few years, causing change in schools, Some years ago there was extreme busing of students out of their districts to give a more racial balance.

Since the mother most have known she was not in the correct district ( wonder how she was able to put child in there in the first place) but yes, they can transfer her to the proper school in the district she is suppose to be in.

Again mom and appeal this to the school board.
