Get some confidence in yourself.
Walk straight and proud and look people in the eye. You have to love yourself .

I'm sure not every girl in your school is taken. I was single all of middle school and then I went into high school and I got a boyfriend.
It could be the same case for you, where guys have known you since elementry school and think of you simply as a friend.

Whatever the case is, you have to be more confident about yourself. Don't tell yourself you're ugly because then you will feel ugly.

Fourteen is an awkward age, it's a time were low self esteem is the norm. You'll grow out of it, trust me. This too shall pass.

For right now, remember, you're unique, just like everyone else. I'm sure not every girl has a guy, and I'm sure that many, if not most, of them feel the same way you do.

What do you like about yourself? When you think about you, what are the good things? Do you have a special talent, are you good at school, do you have really nice hair or pretty eyes?

We always see ourselves more critically than others. I'm sure you're very pretty, and if you dig deeper, I'm sure you're a very special person. It won't be long before someone else sees that too, but first you have to believe in yourself, otherwise no one else will.

Every night before you go to bed I want you to look at yourself in the mirror and repeat these words, and mean them with all your heart.

I am beautiful.
I am unique.
I am special.
I am loved.
I am smart.
I like me.

I know it sounds corny, but after a while you'll start to believe it, because it's true.

Now chin up, go to that mirror and believe those words. Okay?

You're being pretty hard - and unreasonable actually- on yourself because the fact is, most 14 year olds do NOT have boyfriends. Maybe a few of your friend's do, but it's not a norm by any stretch.

I have a son and he and his buddies all talked a big game about girls freshman year of high school but none of them had the guts to ask a girl out for homecoming, or anything else for that matter. So don't assume the boys don't like you, just know they aren't ready yet to let you know. It's kind of a big emotional and social risk - they don't want to get shut down, especially if other people find out about it.

I was jealous of the 14 year old at my school who all had boyfriends.

I had my first kiss at 16 and my first boyfriend at 18, I am now 24.

Now quite a few of my old school friends have several children, no money and no jobs. Now some of them are labelled as well... some rather unsavoury words.

I have just bought a house and moved in with my partner of 4 years and couldn't be happier.

Yep... I'm glad I waited.

Another girl who was a year below me at school was always picked on. She was a dorky looking kid with big glasses and was really quiet. She didn't get much attention from the girls let alone the boys.
I caught up with her a few months back and my gosh, she is gorgeous now and does part time modelling. She also just moved in with her fiancé.

It is very hard to be a teenager. I will bet that not every girl your age has a boyfriend. And not all of them want one!
Having a boyfriend should not decide how you feel about yourself. Love yourself and respect yourself.

I did not have a boyfriend in HS, and neither did most of my friends. We were more concerned about having fun, going to football games, and just laughing all the time. Have fun at this time in your life! :)
