I am replacing an old fan with a Minka Aire Artemis with a wall mount receiver. In the wall, I have a Black and Red wire. The Wall mount receiver has two black wires that state not to connect to white. The receiver controls the fan and light. The old switch controlled only the light on the old fan and the chain controlled the fan. So I am confused which cables to connect.
The receiver in the fan only has two wires coming out White/Black so I capped the Red from the ceiling box and connected the White to White and Black to Black.
It doesn't work.
So I connected the red to black on the receiver, capped the black from the ceiling and now the light stays on, and the switch doesn't work on anything.
Please help.
