Hello, I have just installed a BEKO WM7355S washing machine which has a single cold water inlet. The machine is not starting when a programme is selected and no water is entering the machine. The instructions say that the water pressure has to be 1 - 10 bar (0,1 - 1 MPa) Not sure what the bracketed figures stand for. The instructions advise attaching a pressure-reducing valve if the water pressure is higher. I suspect that this is the problem but don't know how to check the water pressure at the connection point. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

At the local home center or hardware store you should be able to purchase a pressure gauge that attaches to the water supply.

MPa = Pascals x 1,000,000. Pascal is another pressure unit.

Using A hose bib gage,(see image) as Bob suggested let us know your house pressure.'

One to ten bars, (14 1/2 to 145 PSI) ? That's quite a spread for a washer. Since the average hone PSI is 45 PSI, (3.1 bar) my bet's that you'll be just fine. Good luck, Tom

Disconnect the supply hose and check both ends for plugged screens -- If screens aren't plugged or present, then check the machines water inlet for debris.

Most clothes washing machines have screens at their water inlets to protect the solenoid from becoming plugged with debris.
