How to give up parental rights when your not the bioligical father??
My ex partner always new there was a 50/50 chance that he might not be my baby's dad, recent dna proves he is not baby's dad, but he is on the birth certificate, he has nothing to do with my child and doesn't want anything to do with her, how can he give up he's parental rights, as he's not the bioligical dad anyway? Please help with some advice, I can't keep getting he's permission for every thing when we have nothing to do with him

First, terminating parental rights is a legal issue so your post has been moved to the correct forum.

Second, we need more info. ANY question about law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area. We need to also know what you mean by ex partner? Were you married to this person when the baby was born? How long ago was this?

Go to Court and get this straightened out. Once he proves through Court-recognized DNA the Court will "usually" order that the b.c. be changed. He doesn't give up rights. He's not entitled to any rights.

But I am confused - why do you have to get his permission for "everything" if he's not the father? What does "everything" entail?

No we were never married, were in essex in uk. He has a new partner and wants nothing to do with my child, I also have a new partner he has been there since my child was a couple months old, he would like to adopt her if he can, but we are not married, but are looking into it in the future. My child is almost 2

Everything I mean by changing her name, choosing her school, any medial stuff she may need and getting her a passport which I can't do at the mo because he won't have nothing to do with her but he is on her birth certificate so I need he's permission. Thing is I've been told it would takes months to go to court plus it costs a lot, is that the only way to do it? Thanks for your replys

If he wants nothing to do with her, then let your new partner adopt her. This will end his involvement completely. You will need to consult a solicitor for the requirements and preparing the paperwork. I'm not sure of the costs, but if he agrees to the adoption (and I don't see why he shouldn't if he wants nothing to do with her) then it should be fairly simple and not take a long time or cost too much.
