Hello, I have a light switch in my room that currently controls 1 outlet. I would like to have power ran from that outlet up the wall (about 4 feet) so that I can install a wall mounted light and have the light switch control just the new wall light and not the outlet. I have been looking for details on how to do this, I have replaced light switched and installed light fixtures before just never anything like this... thanks!!

How many wires in switch box and how many wires in outlet box? What is configuration of wires in boxes?

Need this info to give u wiring layout.

If you can get a cable from the outlet to the location where you want to mount the light you can do this. Are both halves of the outlet switch or just one half?
