Toilet gurgles water from main drain
I live in a 150 yr old house. When I flush toilet waste and water go down but there is gurgling sound or air sounds(I don't know how to describe) . When I went outside I saw toilet paper hanging from the pipe coming from the base of house and there was what looked like broken down waste and water. Help.

This sounds like a open clean out. Correct?
Are you no a septic tank of city sewer? The gurgle sounds like a blocked or missing vent and the toilet paper coming out of the pipe sounds like a blockage downstream from the opening. Answer my question, septic tank or city sewer and I'll get back to you. Regards, Tom

Sorry it is a septic (should have included that) thanks. What should I do?

When my wife uses washer or kitchen sink water now comes out of pipe outside.

Sounds like your septic tank needs to be pumped and the drain field checked out. Good luck, Tom
