My mother is a cumpolsive lier and stealer and it is hurting are family no one can trust her. My brother and I have to have locks on out rooms because we can not trust her not to steal from us . Just the other day she was cought stealing from her own mother and still lies about it to this day. What can I do to help her before she pulls this family apart?

First, how old are you?

You can push her toward counselling but she will not change until/unless she WANTS to change.

i'm only 17 so there really is not much i can do but tell my family!

yah they know but i can tell them what to do to help her

A senior member of your family should be figuring it out - I'll be amazed if your family sees that you lock your bedroom door to avoid theft but now listens to you.

Seems that you're in a very bad, almost helpless, situation.
