Assalamualakum,

I am recntly married and receive 250 Gm gold in marriage for my Wife(including my parents and her parents).I want to know if I have to pay zakat on this gold as I have not yet completed an year with this.

Or do my Wife has to give Zakat on this because she was holding this from 1 year when she was at her parents house.

Or Her parents has to give Zakat on this Gold?

Walaikum salam,

The nisab for gold is 87g. If your wife possesses this amount of gold for one year, then she has to pay zakah for it.

If your wife is unable to pay her zakah, she should sell some of her jewellery so that the amount of gold is less than 87g or you can pay it for her.

I'm assuming that before your wedding, she was the owner of this gold.
