    Clearance space required
I am remodeling my bathroom and installing a wall hung flush valve toilet, Approx. how thick of a wall do I need to insure that the piping (4") and the carrier system will fit in the wall? Also, how much space would I need for a back to back installation of the same fixtures? Thank you

    Hi Injun...

Different carriers come in different sizes. Determine which carrier you will use and then consult the manufacturer's literature... not much room for error on these systems... :)

Are you installing wall hung carrier designed for residential toilets or for commercial ?

    See enclosed photos:

    1. frame for commercial application. Here you have to use Flush Valve
    2. frame for residential application . Tank built inside the wall / only bowl visible

It's a residential application that could quiclky become commercial. I was going to go with a zurn z-1212 (commercial app.) and was just looking for an approximate wall size. Thanks for your help.

The Geberit as posted above is a more residentially friendly unit... ;)

Check into prices... let us know what you do...

It depends what finished look you want to accomplished. Geberit will give you nice, residential look while Sloan or Zurn will limit you to bulky-looking toilets as you see them in Home Depot's bathrooms. See the pics...

Also, remember: If you plan to turn it into commercial bathroom than the toilet has to be elongated with split-open seat with rim set at certain height from the floor.
