2.4L, 4Dr with 320,000 Km (180 Miles) Noticed the air conditioner turns on automatically when defog or defog/foot modes are selected; however, A/C light does not come on and I cannot shut it off. A/C works fine in any other mode, and can be turned on or off, the light indicates when it is on too, but in the defog mode, it comes on and cannot be turned off. Anyone else experience this problem?

That is a normal operating characteristic for the A/C to cycle periodically when any Defog mode is selected. The purpose is to aid in reducing moisture and condensation inside the vehicle.
